Summer Dance Performance 2025 Information and Policies

Q: What is Summer Dance Performance 2025?

A: It is a professional dance production that works with a professional stage lighting/audio company and sound editors. The dancers wear beautiful dance costumes with hair and light stage makeup. It is combined with student and Director choreography. Dancers enroll in a 10-month consecutive intensive dance program in their selected styles of dance and assigned levels.

Q: Who is eligible for this program?

A: Girls, Ages 5-6 and 7-15, beginning or experienced are enrolled in a 10-month program beginning on Monday, September 9th and consecutively continues through Saturday, June 28th, 2025. All dancers begin in Level 1 and progress throughout the years of training into Level 4.

Q: When, where and what time is Summer Dance Performance 2025?

A: Saturday, June 28th, 2025, TSC Performing Arts Center, 90 Taylor Ave, Brownsville, Texas, 6-8:30pm

Q: What other important dates should I save in my calendar?

A: Friday, June 27th from 12:30pm-5:30pm is our Final Full Rehearsal at the TSC Performing Arts Center. The month of June will have an altered dance schedule. From Monday through Thursday, girls ages 7-15 attend from 6-8pm. The week of “Show Week”, all performers’ ages 5-15 attend a special schedule from Monday through Wednesday. During “Show Week”, all performers will have an in-studio rehearsal on Monday, June 23rd and Tuesday, June 24th from 1-5pm, using Wednesday, 6/25 as a possibility of rehearsal. During the months of April and May, Saturday rehearsals are a possibility at the dance studio and would be from 1pm-5pm., schedule to be released as needed.

Q: What styles of dance and music are performed?

A: Acro, Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical, Jazz, Ribbons, Pop Dance, Theatre Dance and Student/Director Choreography. Music can be from any era or genre.

Q: What fees are associated with Summer Dance Performance?

A: Besides the Monthly Tuition, there is a Show Fee and Costume Fee. The Show Fee includes the day/night of the performance and the final full rehearsal at TSC PAC, in-studio rehearsals, 6 Reserved Seating Invites, and 25 General Seating Invites. The Costume Fee includes all costumes, hairpieces, tights, earrings, undergarments, costume bag, hanger and portrait for the performance program.

Policies

Payments Schedule of Show/Costume Fee:

  1. A deposit payment of $75 is due on Monday, October 14th, 2024, and Monday, November 11th, 2024. Remaining balance will be split between the months of February, March, April and May 2025.

Participation:

Once enrolled, students are to respectfully finish the 10-month program until the end of Summer Dance Performance 2025. If for any reason, student is unable to complete program, dance family is aware that there are no refunds or credits. A deduction of any rehearsals will be taken from amount paid and from there, student would receive any costumes paid in full.

Costume Policies:

Students are measured and according to the costume company sizing chart and are ordered. Costumes may need to be altered and does not guarantee a perfect fit. For a professional fit, we have a costume design alteration specialist. If alterations are needed, the parent is financially responsible for those fees. Costumes may not be altered or changed unless the studio sees a need for alteration.

Dance costumes are more fitted to the dancer body, can be shorter in length, can have full sleeves or sleeveless. The dance costume may have sequin. Dancer must wear costume as instructed and cannot alter the design.

Items and fees not included:

Hair, makeup and food are not included the day/night of performance. Hair must be complete before arrival on day of show. Hair style is pulled away from face, neat. May wear braids, or have design.

Jewelry:

Only earrings that are included in the Costume Fee are worn. No extra jewelry is allowed. Soloists must have any extra jewelry approved by dance studio.

Agreement of Policies:

All students and dance families are in agreement with the “Studio Policy” page on this website and are in agreement to adhere to all policies for Summer Dance Performance 2025.

Security/Backstage Passes:

Safety is extremely important to our dance studio. We have a security team onsite on Friday, June 27th and Saturday, June 28th. Please be vigilant and report immediately to the Director or any staff for unusual activity. If needed, please call 911.

Health/Medical:

For a successful dancer performance, please do not eat fast foods, fatty foods, bioengineered foods, gassy foods, artificial foods, sodas or candy 2 days before our performance. The lunch that is packed should be healthy and handheld, with all bottles labeled. No mugs, open containers or straws are allowed.

Rest is needed on Thursday, 6/26 as we are having a final rehearsal on Friday, 6/27 and our live performance on Saturday, 6/28.

If any injury occurs where dancer will need to be taken to a medical center, 911 will be called and parent will be notified through form of text communication.

Please note, the performance does not stop and will continue to finish in its entirety.

Day of Performance Schedule:

This schedule must be respected and followed.

***Schedule for Friday, 6/27***

Arrival Time: 12:30pm at the Loading Dock backstage door, all dancers, Intro to Dance, and ages 7-14.

Intro to Dance: 12:30pm-2:30pm, dance mom must stay in audience.

Ages 7-14: 12:30pm-5:15pm

Important Notes:

Bring all costume items and all dance shoes. Intro to Dance must be wearing their full costume items with shoes. Ages 7-14, wear a cover up, button down top with shorts or pants to change into all costumes and shoes.

Bring a snack bag with water, everything should be labeled. No open containers, mugs, straws.

Arrival Time: 1:00pm

1:45pm-4:15pm: Final Run Through

4:15pm-5:00pm: Lunch, final touch ups of hair and makeup

5:30pm: All dancers take place on and off stage, Production Crew, Props

6:00pm-8:30pm: “Summer Dance Performance ‘25

Immediately after performance, dance mom will return backstage to get dancer to go to front to greet all guests, then after, go to retrieve items from dressing room.
